What can you learn about your pet's health?

    Liver and bone (AFOS, ALAT)

    Liver values reflect how the liver is working and whether there is strain or change in the body that may need monitoring. Deviations can relate to inflammation or metabolic changes, for example. AFOS can also rise with bone growth or for reasons unrelated to the liver.

    Kidneys (UREA, KREA, SDMA)

    The kidneys keep the body's fluid balance and metabolism in check. Changes in kidney function can develop for a long time without clear symptoms, which makes following them an important part of preventive health monitoring. Together, SDMA and creatinine help identify changes at an earlier stage than a single marker.

    Blood proteins (ALB, TP)

    Blood proteins reflect the body's overall balance, including nutrition, liver function and possible inflammation or protein loss. Deviations can hint at changes in several of the body's systems, which is why they are always assessed as a whole.

    Inflammation (CRP)

    CRP reflects the body's inflammatory response and reacts quickly to different kinds of strain, such as infections or tissue damage. It doesn't pinpoint the exact cause, but works as an early sign that something in the body may be worth a closer look.

    Immune system & allergies (LEU, NEU, LYM, MONO, EOS, BASO)

    White blood cells describe how the body's defence system is working and how it responds to different changes. They can change with infection, inflammation, allergy or stress, for example. The different cell types help build an overall picture of how the body is coping and reacting.

    Red blood cells & oxygen transport (ERY, HB, HKR)

    Red blood cells carry oxygen to the tissues and directly affect your pet's stamina and energy level. Changes can relate to anaemia, dehydration or chronic illness, for example, and may show as tiredness or reduced activity.

    Platelets (TROMB)

    Platelets take part in blood clotting and the body's normal healing process. Changes in their count can signal shifts in the body's balance, such as inflammation or variations in bone marrow activity.

    Cell breakdown (CFD®)

    The CFD® biomarker measures cell-free DNA circulating in the blood, which is linked to the breakdown of cells in the body. It reflects changes happening at tissue level and processes related to cell breakdown. Together with other biomarkers, CFD® helps build a more precise overall picture of your pet's health and how it changes over time.
